1.  Closed Deals

  • $10k in collected premium, effective 02/01/22
  • $20k in collected premium, effective 05/01/22

2.  Level up

  • Calculate total collected premium: $60k
  • $60k in premium puts you in the additional 1% bonus payout category

3.  Get paid      
You'll earn an extra 1% on all premium collected related to the new closed deals. Not bad! We'll send payment via ACH in March, 2023.

Program Details

# Beam is excited to offer brokerages an opportunity to earn up to an additional 2.5% on collected premium1 from new group sales with effective dates from 2/1/2022 to 1/1/2023. The program will only apply to Beam administered dental and vision products.

Brokerage Eligibility: Eligible brokers are those with a direct agent or agency relationship with Beam and cannot have a separate compensation structure above set commission. Any partner relationship and/or general agency with an enhanced commission/bonus structure is not eligible to participate in this program.

Please check with your Beam representative to see if you’re eligible. In order to be eligible for qualification and payment, the broker must be appropriately licensed and appointed and comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including, without limitation, those that apply to disclosure of compensation.

Eligible Lines of Coverage: Dental and Vision

Group Guidelines: This program is applicable to new group sales. New group sales are new groups that are quoted and closed on or before January 1, 2023 with effective dates on or between February 1, 2022 and January 1, 2023.

Payment: Bonus is a one-time payment that is separate and independent from commission and has no impact on rates. Bonus amount is expected to be paid in March 2023, but may be subject to change. Bonus payout is not guaranteed and eligibility, bonus amount, and payment is subject to Beam’s sole discretion.

Brokerage Bonus Structure: Percentage to be paid out is dependent on the threshold met and will be paid as a percentage of the total collected premium from new group sales. Bonus tiers are based on the total annualized amount2 of all new groups with effective dates between 2/1/2022 and 1/1/2023 that are still an active client with Beam as of 1/1/2023. Bonus amounts are not cumulative. New premium thresholds can be met through multiple deals.

Example 1: Brokerage B sold 3 cases in 2022. Case 1 went into effect in February 2022 with a Total Annualized Amount of $10K, Case 2 went into effect in April 2022 with a Total Annualized Amount of $30K, and Case 3 went into effect in February 2023 with a Total Annualized Amount of $40K. brokerage B’s eligible new premium amount is only for Case 1 and Case 2, totaling $40K, as Case 3 goes into effect after January 2023. For new, annualized premium between $20,000-$49,9999, brokerage B will receive a bonus of 0.5% on collected premium related to Case 1 and Case 2.

Example 2: Brokerage A sold Case 1 that closed in December 2021 and went into effect in January 2022 with a Total Annualized Amount of $15K and Case 2 that closed in February 2022 and went into effect in March 2022 with a Total Annualized Amount2 of $18K. Brokerage A’s eligible new premium would only be for Case 2, as Case 1 went into effect prior to February 2022. Because the new eligible premium ($18K) is less than our first premium milestone of $20,000, the brokerage would not receive a bonus.

2. Total Annualized Amount calculated as the value of a groups second month of coverage X 12 for groups still effective as of 1/1/2023
